Abstract: There are different techniques for detecting the altitude. The measurement of altitude plays a vital role for hikers, mountain climbers, skydivers and aircrafts. In applications like aircraft this measurement is vital and the error in this measurement can smash the aircraft and cause disasters. For the hikers and mountain climbers altitude detection is vital for determining oneοΏ½s location and to manage their safety. Various techniques can be used for determining the altitude but an accurate detection has to be used. For analysing this we compare the three most widely used systems that is a laser altitude detection system, a barometric altitude detection system and an ultrasonic altitude detection system.
