Abstract: Every hour, the sun delivers more energy to Earth than humanity uses in a year, yet today's solar systems capture only a small fraction of it. SolarQuest asks a simple question: how can we get more electricity from the same sunlight? The project looks at where energy is lost, from reflection, heat, dust, and poor panel orientation, and at the technologies that recover it.Three areas of innovation are highlighted. First, capture: sun-tracking mounts, bifacial panels, and concentrators that gather more light across the day. Second, conversion: next-generation cells such as perovskite tandems and better anti-reflective coatings that turn more of that light into power. Third, control: AI-based forecasting, smart inverters, and automated cleaning and cooling that keep output high in real conditions. The findings suggest that no single upgrade is enough. Combining these approaches can raise annual energy yield by roughly 15-40%, depending on climate and site, while improving cost-effectiveness and land-use efficiency. SolarQuest concludes that steady, integrated innovation is key to making solar power more affordable and more reliable.
