Abstract: Enormous amount of geographic data have been and continuously being collected with the advent of modern data acquisition systems like remote sensing, Global positioning system etc. To efficiently process this data, there is a great need to extract the hidden knowledge from these spatial data streams which are unpredictably large in size, complexity and dimensionality. To address these challenges, spatial data mining and geographic knowledge discovery has emerged as an active research field, focusing on the development of theory, methodology, and practice for the extraction of knowledge and useful information from massive and highly complex spatial data streams. This paper emphasizes on Bayesian classification for spatial data. Bayesian is combined with a new data structure called peano count tree for compressing the spatial data, enhancing the scalability and reducing the classifier build time. A new technique called Fuzzy Bayesian is introduced which dramatically increased the performance of the Bayesian classifier. It is ascertained that the accuracy has been improved by Fuzzy Bayesian method with P-trees.

Abstract: Digital images are the most important source of information. The availability of powerful digital image processing software’s, makes it relatively easy to create as well as manipulate and make digital forgery from one or multiple images. In today’s world it is easy to developed the image forgery by adding or removing some elements from the image which result in a of image tampering. A copy-move forgery is created by copying and pasting content within the same image, and post-operating it. The detection of copy-move forgeries has become one of the most actively researched topics in image forensics department. The key objectives of the proposed method is to study the effect of different types of tampering on the digital image, detect image forgery by copy-move under many types of attacks by combining block-based and feature based method and accurately locating the duplicated region.

Optimization of Energy by using IWD Algorithm in WSN
NAVJOT SINGH, PARMINDER KAUR CSE Department, Chandigarh University, Gharuan, Punjab, India CSE Department, Chandigarh University, Gharuan, Punjab, India
Abstract: WSN (Wireless Sensor networks) is one of important wide spread networks that are effective in recent years because of the involvement of the network in terms of electronics, communication and information technology in the single network. Energy efficiency is the most required quality in a sensor network as each node consumes some energy with each transmission over the network. Energy optimization is required to improve the lifetime of network. In this paper, PEGASIS routing protocol is presented to optimize the energy by implementing IWD (Intelligent Water Drop) algorithm. This proposed IWD algorithm optimize its routing criteria by selecting the shortest path so that the energy which is involved inside the network can be optimized and thus increases the lifetime of wireless sensor network. Experimental results show that by using PEGASIS and IWD, energy consumption, throughput and packet overhead can be optimized.

Abstract: Machine Translation is the branch of computational linguistics which deals the use of computer software to translate from one natural language to another natural language. The research in the field of Machine Translation has been going on from past few decades but the promising translation work is done from 1990s.Even with advanced research in artificial intelligence and computational linguistics the machines fail to produce the promising translation automatically. So to improve the quality of the translation there is need of machine aid or human aid. This paper focuses on mainly four sections. The first section deals with the introduction the machine translation and the second section deals with the brief history and the third section deals with the machine translation approaches and the last section deals with the existing systems.

Abstract: The microstrip antenna finds its place in varied and upcoming technologies because it offers low profile, narrow bandwidth, high gain, and compact antenna element. The biggest disadvantage of microstrip antenna is its narrow bandwidth and poor impedance matching capacity. To make microstrip antenna compatible with commercial applications, the bandwidth enhancement and impedance matching of such antennas has to be done. The impedance matching of antenna depends upon type and position of the feed because impedance matching of source at the feeding point of antenna is very important for efficient operation of antenna. In order to improve the impedance matching a dual staircase shaped microstrip patch antenna is used in this paper. The dual staircase patch is fed with a coaxial feed technique. By using IE3D software, the simulated results gives good impedance matching and the bandwidth obtained is 6% at 3.79GHz frequency. The proposed antenna which comes under S-Band (2-4GHz) of microwaves can be used in RADAR applications like weather radar, surface ship radar, and some communications satellites.

Abstract: Steganography is an art and science of secure information communication where the secret data or confidential data is hidden in host file. It is used in different useful applications like secure data communication, healthcare and military. Confidential information’s are commonly stored in digital media and transmitted via internet due to the rapid growth of internet. If the information’s in images are altered then this may lead to wrong assumptions. Certain medical applications require information exchange over an insecure network where a small piece of medical information is modified intentionally for certain illegal purpose which may lead to wrong diagnosis. Therefore protection of integrity, reliability and confidentiality of the secret data in images are the important issues. To protect the secret information cryptography technique can be used where the secret data is altered, even if the attackers get to know the data it won’t be of any use without knowing the algorithm. According to the survey not all issues are satisfied by the single method. In this paper a survey is made on the data hiding and Steganography methods.

Abstract: Biggest challenges long-faced by todays applications are unit growth of knowledge. Quantity of knowledge created and consumed is growing in size. It will increase further when complexity of application increases. Centralized solutions for storing and retrieving data aren't possible for several reasons. First reason is that the inability to scale as and once required. Single purpose of failure hinders handiness of the applications and therefore reducing potency. Owing to these shortcomings of centralized systems we move towards data grids. Data grids act as a middleware which will store massive set of data across distributed applications. Data grids distribute large sets of data across a group of servers over a network, therefore forming a cluster. Middleware ought to be ready to serve numerous platforms and storage systems. Data grids have to be compelled to be optimized to scale go in environments that manufacture and use large amounts of data. Infinispan is that the resolution that has of these options.

Abstract: Efficient and effective detection of objects in the images is an important task in many image processing applications. This paper presents a region merging approach for detecting the foreground objects in the image. The foreground objects are the structured objects with an independent and detectable boundary. The proposed approach identifies objects in the given image based on general properties of the objects without depending on the prior knowledge about specific objects. The regions of the structured foreground objects in the image are separated by using region contrast information. The perceptual organization laws of human visual system are used in the region merging process to identify the boundaries of various objects. The system is adaptive to the image content. The results of the experiments show that the proposed scheme can reliably extract object boundary from the background.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a technique to efficiently detect human face in color images with varying illumination conditions. The strategy consists of modeling the distribution of skin colors gaussian fitted skin color model and segmenting the image into skin and non-skin parts, using threshold values that are computed automatically by an adaptive technique. Here we show that a mixture model of gaussians can provide a robust representation of the human skin color to accommodate with a lot of color variations. Using images taken from the internet, containing persons with various skin-color types in different illumination conditions, experimental results show that the proposed method can cope with a various range of illumination situations and complex backgrounds, where skin color based segmentation can segment the skin regions of human face and separated the non-skin regions and after that using edge detection operators(canny and prewitt) , which detect the face regions while reducing the noise around that region. In this way this hybrid approach provide us better system to detect the face region.

Abstract: The importance of authentication is increasing due to increase of online transactions over the internet. There is a need to establish a framework for the authentication of computer-based information. A Digital Signature is one of the authentication mechanisms. A valid digital signature gives a recipient reason to believe that the message was created by a known sender, and that it was not altered in transit. Digital signatures are commonly used for software distribution, financial transactions, and in other cases where it is important to detect forgery or tampering. Various asymmetric cryptosystems create and verify digital signatures using different algorithms and procedures. This paper performs security analysis of Digital Signature schemes; RSA, DSA and EIGamal. A cryptographic tool is used for conducting experiments. Experiments results are given to analyses the effectiveness of each algorithm.

Abstract: The scaling of CMOS technology has significant impacts on SRAM cell random fluctuation of electrical characteristics and substantial leakage currents. Reduction of leakage current is very important for low power applications. This provides the motivation to the design of low leakage SRAM cells, because these high leakage currents are becoming a major contributor to total power dissipation of CMOS circuits. Memory leakage suppression is critically important for the success of power-efficient designs, especially for ultra- low power applications. In order to achieve low power design there many techniques are presented earlier like Multiple Vdd supply, Multiple Vth technique, SVL scheme, but these techniques will reduce only subthreshold leakages in SRAM cell and leaves gate leakage as remains. The proposed adaptive voltage level (AVL) circuit is added to Asymmetric 10T-SRAM cell, to reduce the sub-threshold leakage and as well as gate leakage, which controls the effective voltage across the SRAM cell in inactive mode. And Simulations are performed with 90nm CMOS technology process file and the leakage power and leakage currents of all the cells are measured and compared. Simulation results revealed that there is a significant reduction in leakage power for this proposed cell with the AVL circuit.

Abstract: Due to the scarcity of the frequency spectrum, we usually filter the transmitted signal to limit its bandwidth. So, that efficient sharing of the frequency resource can be achieved. Moreover, many practical channels are band-pass and, in fact, they often respond differently to inputs with different frequency components, i.e., they are dispersive. The resulting interference, inter-symbol interference (ISI), degrades the error performance of the communication system. There are two major ways to mitigate the detrimental effect of ISI. The first method is to design band-limited transmission pulses which minimize the effect of ISI. The second method is to filter the received signal to cancel the ISI introduced by the channel impulse response. This approach is generally known as equalization. In this paper we have adopted adaptive equalization technique to reduce ISI and have compared with the existing techniques. Also, we a graphical user interface (GUI) has been developed for making the work user friendly so that everyone can use it with ease.

Abstract: We are living in an age when an explosive amount of data is being generated every day. Data from sensors, mobile devices, social networking websites, scientific data & enterprises – all are contributing to this huge explosion in data. This sudden bombardment can be grasped by the fact that we have created a vast volume of data in the last two years. Big Data- as these large chunks of data is generally called- has become one of the hottest research trends today. Research suggests that tapping the potential of this data can benefit businesses, scientific disciplines and the public sector – contributing to their economic gains as well as development in every sphere. The need is to develop efficient systems that can exploit this potential to the maximum, keeping in mind the current challenges associated with its analysis, structure, scale, timeliness and privacy. There has been a shift in the architecture of data-processing systems today, from the centralized architecture to the distributed architecture. Enterprises face the challenge of processing these huge chunks of data, and have found that none of the existing centralized architectures can efficiently handle this huge volume of data. These are thus utilizing distributed architectures to harness this data. Several solutions to the Big Data problem have emerged which includes the Map Reduce environment championed by Google which is now available open-source in Hadoop. Hadoop‟s distributed processing, Map Reduce algorithms and overall architecture are a major step towards achieving the promised benefits of Big Data.

Abstract: Salient region detection in image is useful for applications like adaptive compression, image segmentation and region-based image retrieval. Many of existing saliency detection techniques do not pay much attention to the noise problem. In this paper the proposed model uses L0 smoothing filter to reduce the effect of noise and achieve a better performance. The important role in our framework is played by the L0 smoothing filter. The L0 filter is extremely helpful in characterizing fundamental image constituents, i.e. salient edges and can simultaneously reduce insignificant details, thus producing more accurate boundary information for background merging. The saliency maps in this paper are extracted by three features: the color spatial variance, border measurement, and region contrast. The color spatial variance is utilized to calculate the degree of color distribution. Based on the observation that salient objects are less likely to be connected with the borders of an image, the boundary information of each segment is used to determine the salient region. Last but not least, a region contrast method is used for extracting global contrast used to achieve full resolution map with well defined boundaries. Thus this method will give more accurate results as compared to other methods.

Abstract: Cloud Computing adds more power to the existing Internet technologies. Virtualization harnesses the power of the existing infrastructure and resources. With virtualization we can simultaneously run multiple instances of different commodity operating systems. Since we have limited processors and jobs work in concurrent fashion, overload situations can occur. There are many types of load balancing algorithms available for cloud for increasing performance. In this paper we propose a Unified Load Balancing system which consists of static load balancer which forwards the incoming ip request to specified node and a workload manager which manages working load on all computing node. This system makes efficient use of power by moving VM from light weighted node thus making him idle.
A Proposed Architecture Over Energy Efficient Routing Configuration in WSN

Abstract: In typical sensor network application scenario the real time data collection and maximizing network life time are the most important task. In sensor network a mobile sink node moves into the sensing area or a node is activated to serve as a cluster head and collect data from the sensor nodes deployed in the area. But collection of data and processing data consumes the enormous amount of energy. In sensor network the data transferring from leaf node to end user is done by two methods, such as Single hop communication and multi hop communication. But both communications suffer from some disadvantages like wastage of energy and node isolation problem respectively. So in this paper we proposed architecture for sensor network in which Cluster Terminal is introduced which solves major problem faced in the previous communication methods and we proposed an algorithm for energy-efficient design and analysis of novel architecture that can dynamically configure a network to achieve guaranteed degrees of coverage and connectivity.

Abstract: In cognitive radio (CR) systems, one of the main implementation issues is spectrum sensing. This paper considers an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)- based CR spectrum sharing system that assumes random access of primary network subcarriers by secondary users (SUs) and absence of the PU‟s spectrum utilization information, i.e., no spectrum sensing is employed to acquire information about the PU‟s activity or availability of free subcarriers which is termed as Random Subcarrier Access (RSA) Scheme. This paper obtains the performance of the random access scheme in terms of capacity of the subcarrier collisions by assuming an interference power constraint at PUs to protect their operation. This paper also considers a method entitled Spectrum Harvesting with ARQ Retransmission and Probing (SHARP) which is based on spectrum sharing system where the secondary pair listens to the primary ARQ feedback to glean information about the primary channel. Two varieties of spectrum sharing, named conservative and aggressive SHARP, are introduced. The performance of RSA scheme and SHARP scheme is compared.

Abstract: Currently, the amount of sensitive data produced by many organizations is out pacing their storage ability. The management of such huge amount of data is quite expensive due to the requirements of high storage capacity and qualified personnel. Storage-as-a-Service (SaaS) offered by cloud service providers (CSPs) is a paid facility that enables organizations to outsource their data to be stored on remote servers. Thus, SaaS reduces the maintenance cost and mitigates the burden of large local data storage at the organization’s end. A data owner pays for a desired level of security and must get some compensation in case of any misbehavior committed by the CSP. On the other hand, the CSP needs a protection from any false accusation that may be claimed by the owner to get illegal compensations. In this paper, a cloud-based storage scheme is proposed that allows the data owner to benefit from the facilities offered by the CSP and enables indirect mutual trust between them. The proposed scheme has two important features: i) It allows the owner to outsource sensitive data to a CSP, and it ensures that only authorized users (i.e., Those who have the right to access the owner’s file) receive the outsourced data i.e. It enforces the access control of the outsourced data can be done by sending a key through email to the registered users and ii) Enables indirect mutual trust between the owner and the CSP using Cheating detection module.

Abstract: The vector control analysis of an induction motor allows the decoupled analysis where the torque and the flux components can be independently controlled (just as in dc motor). This makes the analysis easier than the per phase equivalent circuit. The current control methods play an important role in power electronic circuits, particularly in current regulated PWM inverters which are widely applied in ac motor drives and continuous ac power supplies where the objective is to produce a sinusoidal ac output. The main task of the control systems in current regulated inverters is to force the current vector in the three phase load according to a reference trajectory.

Abstract: In this paper we propose a computational m odel b a s e d on OWL/SWRL enabled ontologies, which can be used in the development of an automated software tool which help the patients know about their health conditions via patient specific reminders, advice and action items which helps in preventing the development of specific disease like diabetic foot care and Alzheimer’s in patients. This tool focus at: (i) patients who would like to manage their illness efficiently by being informed and alerted to the significance of any change(s) they detect in their health condition and (ii) healthcare professionals who can disseminate their knowledge to patients more effectively, and thus prevent the development of disease , which may cause the premature death of patients. The benefits of OWL/SWRL enabled ontologies in our computational model are numerous i.e. r a n g e from the power to store, manage and reason effectively upon knowledge and information related to particular disease and prevention through OWL/SWRL computations, to the feasibility of including such computations into software applications, which can be used as a set of Apps on Android devices or on personalized healthcare iClouds. Consequently in the core of our proposal are (a) the OWL ontological model and its constraints which define and store the semantics of symptoms and observations of the changes in patient health and (b) the reasoning process which uses the semantics and the power of ontological matching through SWRL.

Comparative Analysis of Speech Features for Speech Emotion Recognition
PRASHANT AHER, ALICE CHEERAN Electrical Engineering Department, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, India
Abstract: In this paper, comparative analysis of speech cepstral features is performed to recognise emotion. We identify two effective feature namely, Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) and Cochlear Filterbank cepstral coefficients extracted from speech signal. MFCC as a baseline approach is compared to the feature extracted from cochlear filterbank with zero crossing at the output of each channel. Extracted features are fed to Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier. As shown in our results, cochlear feature provide highest recognition accuracy provided using linear kernel. It gives 89.67% classification accuracy for Berlin Emotional Speech Database. A study on noise robustness of above mentioned feature was also carried out. MFCC and cochlear feature have recognition accuracy of 81.9% and 86% respectively in clean testing conditions with RBF kernel function but when mismatch between training and testing set increases as in real time situations, recognition accuracy of MFCC feature is 11% while cochlear feature gives accuracy of 25%, which shows that cochlear feature is more robust to noise.

Abstract: In this paper, we will enlist the process of SQL query optimization based on Heuristic approach. It is often found in the database industry that a lot of time is consumed in executing inefficient SQL queries. The problem here is that although the DBA knows that the queries red are inefficient, the large sections of people who are actually ring these queries are unable to write efficient queries. As a result, the performance of the entire system degrades because of the drastic fall in the system throughput i.e. the number of transactions performed per unit time is reduced. Typically, to overcome this problematic situation, most of the people frequently consult the DBA for writing efficient queries. This approach results in a lot of time loss. A better solution is using a Query Optimizer. A Query Optimizer will accept the inputted user query and automatically generate a equivalent but highly optimized query. This will save a lot of time and e ort. This in turn improves the system throughput and its overall performance. The Query Optimizer in this project is a Heuristic Optimizer. It basically tries to minimize the number of accesses by reducing the number of tuples and number of columns to be searched.

Abstract: Network security is the best known mechanism in the computer world, which secures the data against hackers or unauthorized users over the communication channel. In this paper three mixed techniques are used to enhance the security i.e. One is Rijndael, other is cross change & transformation followed by basic arithmetic and logic operations. In the existing system, the encryption is less secure & less complex while the proposed work implements the size of the private key for ensuring the data protection. Data secrecy is mainly dependent on the strength of key size in the encryption algorithm. The proposed algorithm computes a random key sequence for each & every plaintext character. So that the encrypted data should be in the disguised format to analyze.

Abstract: Utilization of electromagnetic radiofrequency spectrum with efficient way, we required to check the spectrum to determine whether it is being used by primary user (PU) or not. Research shows that the available spectrum is not utilized efficiently. The term cognitive radio (CR) refers to the adoption of radio parameters using the sensed information of the spectrum. Cognitive radio is the way to improve the efficiency of the radio spectrum utilization, which is achieved by CR, finds unused spectrum and allocate to secondary user without interfering to PU. The focus of this paper is on the comparative study of an important spectrum sensing detection methods. In this paper, we have considered four spectrum sensing techniques of transmitter detection: Matched filter detection, Energy detection, and Cyclostationary feature detection and Maximum eigenvalue to minimum eigenvalue ratio detector. Comparative analysis of the four techniques has been carried out in terms of probability of false alarm Pf, probability of detection alarm Pd, and probability of miss detection Pm. Finally by simulation result, the graphical comparison shows that at low signal to noise ratio (SNR), cyclostationary feature detection outperforms other two techniques, thus Cyclostationary have some difficulties like implementation is complex, long observation time, maximum eigenvalue to minimum eigenvalue ration detector methods overcome noise level variation difficulty, and also have the advantages of energy detection method

SUKANYA S. GAWADE, GYANKAMAL J.CHHAJED ME student, Department of Computer Engineering, VPCOE, Baramati, Pune university, India Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, VPCOE, Baramati, Pune university, India
Abstract: Identifying or inferring user’s search goal from given query is a difficult job as search engines allow users to specify queries simply as a list of keywords which may refer to broad topics, to technical terminology, or even to proper nouns that can be used to guide the search process to the relevant collection of documents. Information needs of users are represented by queries submitted to search engines and different users have different search goals for a broad topic. Sometimes queries may not exactly represent the user's information needs due to the use of short queries with ambiguous terms. Hence to get the best results it is necessary to capture different user search goals. These user goals are nothing but information on different aspects of a query that different users want to obtain. The judgment and analysis of user search goals can be improved by the relevant result obtained from search engine and user's feedback. Here, feedback sessions are used to discover different user search goals based on series of both clicked and unclicked URL's. The pseudo-documents are generated to better represent feedback sessions which can reflect the information need of user. With this the original search results are restructured and to evaluate the performance of restructured search results, classified average precision (CAP) is used. This evaluation is used as feedback to select the optimal user search goals.
Keywords: AP (Average Precision), CAP (Classified Average Precision), SVM (Support Vector Machine), URL (Uniform Resource Locator), VAP (Voted AP).

Abstract: Low power has emerged as a principal theme in today's electronic industry. Energy efficiency is one of the most critical features of modern electronic systems designed for high speed and portable applications. Reduction of power consumption makes a device more reliable and efficient. The minimum amount of power consumption was a major driving force behind the development of CMOS technologies. As a outcome, CMOS technology are best known for low power consumption devices. However, for minimizing the power consumption of system or device, simply knowing that CMOS devices may consume less power than equivalent devices from other technologies does not help much. It is important to know not only how to calculate power consumption, but also to calculate how various factors such as input voltage level, input rise time, source leakage current, Gate current, Switching power, short-circuit power, power-dissipating capacitor, and output loading affect the power requirement of a device. This paper presents an energy efficient and ecofriendly technique for overcoming power consumption in a CMOS devices, focusing on calculation of power-dissipation in various components and, finally, the determination of various ways to reduce the total power consumption in a CMOS device. The proposed technique has less power dissipation when compared to the conventional CMOS design style also the proposed technique is advantageous in many of the low power digital circuit design applications.

Abstract: As a mobile user travels between radio networks, a handover mechanism is required to vary its radio connection. The persistence of a call is one of the major quality measurements in wireless cellular networks. Handover mechanism permits a cellular network to offer such a facility by again allocating an ongoing call from one base station to another base station. To achieve handover neural network techniques can be used. In this paper, a handover decision mechanism is proposed using Radial Basis function (RBF) of neural networks in Matlab.

ANKITA MITTAL, MEENA AHLAWAT Assistant Professor, ECE, GGGI, Ambala, India Student M.Tech, ECE, GGGI, Ambala, India
Abstract: This paper describes about the analysis of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals using neural network approach. Heart structure is a unique system that can generate ECG signals independently via heart contraction. Basically, an ECG signal consists of PQRST wave. Normal healthy heart can be simply recognized by normal ECG signal while heart disorder or arrhythmias signals contain differences in terms of features and morphological attributes in their corresponding ECG waveform. Cardiac arrhythmias are classified by abnormal activities in the heart [3]. These abnormalities can be analyzed by an electrocardiogram (ECG). Details from this electrical signal can be used to classify different types of arrhythmias. Multiple data samples of normal ECG characteristics also were read by a neural network (NN) and analyzed for the differences between abnormal signal and an irregular signal. The data was extracted from the MIT-BIH Supra ventricular database and the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database. A neural network is designed and programmed with this data and then tested to validate the data set. When neural networks are further used to analyze and test medical data samples, the medical community and patients will experience improvements in the diagnosis of heart abnormalities and early detection of debilitating medical conditions.

Abstract: Online social networks (OSNs) have experienced tremendous growth in recent years and become a de facto portal for hundreds of millions of Internet users. These OSNs offer attractive means for digital social interactions and information sharing, but also raise a number of security and privacy issues. The OSNs allow users to restrict access to shared data; Currently they do not provide any mechanism to enforce privacy concerns over data associated with multiple users. One basic issue in today’s Online Social Networks (OSNs) is to give users the power to regulate the messages denote on their own non-public house to avoid the display of unwanted content is displayed. In the existing Apriori algorithm user cannot safeguard his or her blog, because unwanted message causes many problems. To overcome this problem Naive Bayes algorithm is proposed in this project. Abstract: Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are garnering lot of interest in present world applications due to its self- management capabilities with less human intervention. Energy efficiency is a critical requirement in these types of network, since majority of the sensor nodes are battery driven. In this direction, clustering protocol has proved to save more energy compared to other routing protocols. Hence, this paper proposes a novel clustering protocol, which is based on the brood parasitism of few cuckoo bird species, thereby increasing the lifetime of the network compared to basic- LEACH protocol. The simulation results prove that adding these kinds of bio-inspired computations into the pre- existing protocol design leads to enhancement in the efficiency of the network.

Abstract: Coverage is one of the main research interests in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which is used to determine the quality of service (QoS) of the networks. Therefore, this paper aims to solve coverage problem in distributed wireless sensor network by increasing sensor nodes coverage based on Novel Discrete Binary PSO Algorithm. This algorithm is capable of very efficiently deploying the sensors with an objective of maximizing the coverage and minimizing the network cost. There is a requirement of a minimum number of sensors to cover the entire grid area; below that number it will not be possible to cover the entire work field efficiently. Therefore, if the WSN is not deployed efficiently, the coverage issue is raised with an error message to improve the coverage area. These issues in WSNs are formulated as multidimensional optimization problems, and approached through various bio-inspired techniques. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a easy to implement, effective and computationally efficient optimization algorithm. It has been applied to address various WSN issues such as optimal deployment of sensors, node localization, clustering and data-aggregation. PSO is a real value algorithm[1], and the discrete binary PSO is proposed to be adapted to discrete binary space. Simulations have been done to illustrate the significant and effective impact of this novel approach of discrete particle swarm optimizer on sensor placement in WSN.

Abstract: This is the age of universal electronic connectivity, where the activities like hacking, viruses, electronic fraud are very common. Unless security measures are taken, a network conversation or a distributed application can be compromised easily. Information security has been affected by two major developments over the last several decades. First one is introduction of computers into organizations and the second one being introduction of distributed systems and the use of networks and communication facilities for carrying data between users & computers. These two developments lead to „computer security‟ and „network security‟, where the computer security deals with collection of tools designed to protect data and to thwart hackers. Network security measures are needed to protect data during transmission. But keep in mind that, it is the information and our ability to access that information that we are really trying to protect and not the computers and networks.

SUDHIR KUMAR, AVINASH KUMAR DUBEY Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Thapar University
Abstract: In this study a time-frequency method based on Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD) is used for detection and parameter estimation of Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FM-CW) Radar Signal. The proposed method uses the Pseudo-Wigner-Ville Distribution (PWVD) as a time-frequency detection technique and Radon Transform to identify the parameter of the modulation. The Wigner-Ville Radon Transform (WVRT) is suboptimal in detection and parameter estimation of FM-CW low probability of intercept (LPI) radar waveform. Autonomously detecting and analysing of FM-CW can eliminate the need of human intervention. It has been shown that the proposed algorithm can extract FM-CW radar modulation parameter efficiently.

Abstract: To track the exact position of a mobile user is an important role for location services in an indoor environment. Low power, low cost and low complexity are the important characteristics of wireless sensor network. Indoor position system performance can be enhanced drastically with these properties. Diffraction, scattering and reflection has adverse effect on radio signal propagation, therefore the received signal strength requires good calibration method to provide accurate position. In this paper, grey prediction method is used in wireless sensor network and it makes use of wireless techniques (Zigbee/802.15.4). Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is predicted using the grey prediction, and Dynamic triangular (DTN) location method is also designed. For performance analysis, mean distant error of RSSI at offline stage on mobile user can be within 2.3m.In run time stage, grey prediction give more accurate predicted position and carries out mean distance error within 1.3 m.

Abstract: Change detection is the process of finding out difference between two images taken at two different times. With the help of remote sensing the . Here we will try to find out the difference of the same image taken at different times. here we use mean ratio and log ratio to find out the difference in the images. Log is use to find background image and fore ground detected by mean ratio. A reformulated fuzzy local-information C-means clustering algorithm is proposed for classifying changed and unchanged regions in the fused difference image. It incorporates the information about spatial context in a novel fuzzy way for the purpose of enhancing the changed information and of reducing the effect of speckle noise. Experiments on real SAR images show that the image fusion strategy integrates the advantages of the log-ratio operator and the mean-ratio operator and gains a better performance. The change detection results obtained by the improved fuzzy clustering algorithm exhibited lower error than its preexistences.

Abstract: Hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is getting more attention recently because it has no emission of toxic gases which leads to global warming. Now a days, Particle swarm Optimization Gravity Search Algorithm (PSOGSA) is widely used for optimization, because of its faster convergence rate to the optimal minimum value than other optimization techniques. The main aim of this paper is to control the speed of non-linear hybrid electric vehicle by controlling the throttle position so as to get driving safety, improved fuel economy, reduced manufacturing cost and pollution. To control the speed of hybrid electric vehicle tuning of PID controller is done using particle swarm optimization gravity search algorithm. The performance of the technique is determined by taking mean square error(MSE) as a fitness function. The comparative study is carried out to identify the suitable optimization technique for controlling the various parameters of PID for HEV. The results obtained by tuning of PID with PSOGSA technique compared with other techniques such as Zeigler-Nichols tuning method and standard PID tuning.

Abstract: Fingerprints are a great source for identification of individuals. It is one of the oldest form of biometric identification. Fingerprint friction ridge details are generally described in a hierarchical order at three different levels,namely,Level1(pattern),Level2(minutia points),and Level 3(Pores and ridges contour) Although latent print examiners frequently take advantage of Level 3 features to assist in identification, Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) currently rely only on Level 1 and Level 2 features. Level 3 features carry significant discriminatory information. In our project we have presented an automated Fingerprint recognition system which uses level 3 features in combination with level 2 features which makes a matching system more accurate, efficient and beneficial.

Abstract: Wireless mesh network is a most popular technology now a days due to its low installation cost, easily deployable, self configurable technology as compared to other competitive technologies. Access points/wireless routers and wireless nodes are the important part of this technology. In this paper, we present the optimized routing technique for wireless mesh network based on the Hopfield neural network and mobile agent technology and fuzzy logic system with primary goal to find an optimal route. Mobile agent technique is used to share the information of network conditions. Here, we realized the proposed routing technique through two independent methods. They are both based on the neuro-fuzzy logic. In first method, an optimized route is finding out based on multi criteria optimization in order to provide the best possible usage of resources. In second method, all routing minute to minute information is detected and shared all over the network. In this procedure, mobile agent technology has been proposed here. For optimization of the route, criteria are number of hops, link capacity and link occupancy. These criteria should use network resources as optimally as possible.

Abstract: In thi s p a p e r , we have proposed a t e c h n i q u e for designing of fractional order d i g i t a l differentiator by use of power f u n c t i o n and l e a s t -square method. The input signal is altered into a power function by using Taylor series expansion and its fractional derivativ e is calculated using the Grunwald-Letnikov explanation. Then, fractional order digital differentiator is demonstrated as a finite impulse response (FIR) system, which produces fractional order derivative of the Grunwald-Letnikov cat egory for a power function. The FIR system coefficients are achieved by using least square method . Two illustrations are used to demonstrate that the fractional derivative of the digital signals is calculated by using the suggested technique. The results of the second example divulges that the suggested method gives superior performance in comparison to existing filtering method.

Abstract: Sleep/Wake up scheduling algorithm has been proposed for event-driven sensor networks for delay-sensitive applications where events occur rarely. The most efficient research efforts in Wireless Sensor Network are focused on energy problem since the nodes are usually battery-powered. To prolong the network lifetime, few sleep scheduling methods are always required in Wireless Sensor Networks, resulting in significant broadcasting delay, especially in large scale WSNs. In order to reduce the delay of alarm broadcasting from any sensor node in WSNs, many methods have been employed, and it is a research challenge in Wireless Sensor Networks because the Critical event monitoring has become essential through WSNs. In our research work, the performance of the different sleep/wakeup scheduling algorithms has been analyzed for minimizing the broadcast delay in WSNs and described their boon and bane of event management analysis and the issues addressed through them. Also, the Critical risk factors and the disputes of current various scheduling schemes that are employed have been briefed to maximize the utilization of Wireless sensor Networks.
